George’s World Championship adventure
We would like to say a huge congratulations to Bridlington Golf Club Junior Member, George Rowell, on his amazing performance finishing runner-up in the US kids World Golf Championship at Pinehurst Golf Club in America – July 31st to August 2nd 2025.
George travelled to America last week with his Mum and Dad to take part and only had a couple
of days to practice and adjust his Golf game to contend with the completely different type of golf courses in America.
George played some fantastic Golf over the three days of Competition and narrowly missed out on winning by just four shots from the eventual winner from the Phillipines. George was the only British representative in the field of 105 taking part in the 7 years old age category. His achievement is quite extraordinary for someone of such a young age and has certainly put both Bridlington and Bridlington Golf Club on the map.
George qualified for the World Championships in America after becoming the British Wee Wonders National Champion and also finishing an impressive runner-up in the US kids European Championship.
7 year old George has had an exceptional year, winning many other events around the country and he is now taking a well earned rest in the “Big Apple” with his family.
Well done George and best wishes for continued success.
